Hello, I am Irmantas Ivanauskas.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from Vilnius University. For 12 years I’ve worked as a software engineer — from frontend to databases, with the strongest focus on Java backend and DevOps including more recently a large migration to the Cloud. I also have some basic training in neuroscience.

I enjoy reading about all kinds of topics online, breaking them down to first principles and then building up the bigger picture. That’s given me a fairly wide knowledge base and a natural love for quizzes. I have a pragmatic view about things. I call it Irmantas’ paradox: I like to travel and try a wide variety of new things, yet I’m introverted and spend a lot of my time indoors. I used to play a lot of computer games.
